A year to remember

Nature in danger

Our names are Joaquim and João. My brother Joaquim is fifty-one years old and I´m fifty-two years old and we are Portuguese.

Our father is a biologist. We live near Amazonia because our father works there. He studies animal life. We like music, animals and collecting unusual stones and we love going into the forest with our father. But we don´t like seeing the destruction of plants and animals. However, all over the world Nature is in danger because Man is destroying it.

There are many problems. The pollution of rivers and oceans, the destruction of the ozone layer, the animals and plants in danger of extinction are just some of them. Our father says that we all have to start protecting our environment and we think he´s right.
